Doubt

Sermon Series: The Gospel of Matthew Passage: Matthew 11:1-19 Cross References: Isaiah 29:18, Isaiah 35:4-6, Isaiah 61 Thoughts: Jesus is the one who overcomes doubts. "Doubt is natural within faith. It comes about because of our human weakness and frailty." -Alister McGrath. Causes of Doubt: Doubt often arises as a result of difficult situations, unmet expectations, and/or limited perception. To confront doubt: we have to know the Word of Scripture and respond in joyful submission. Delayed obedience is disobedience. We can respond in faith and be all in, not withholding. Apart from the Word of Scripture, we cannot know the Truth.
