Romans 10:13-17 talks about salvation coming from believing, and believing comes due to hearing the gospel, and hearing the gospel comes because someone tells us, and someone tells us because they are sent to tell.  Paul then says “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach (tell) the good news!”  There were many “feet” involved in the salvation process for me.  I grew up with parents and grandparents who were “sold out” to Jesus, so I had “heard” the good news all my life.  Then there were the various churches I attended in which the Word was taught by pastors and teachers and lived out by friends.  And, of course, the missionaries who came to the churches we attended throughout my life.  They would tell of their experiences in the mission field and my heart would ache with a longing to know their God.  I am grateful for all those “feet” that brought to me the good news.

Romans 10:11 says “Everyone who believes in Him will not be put to shame.” Romans 10:13 says “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”  We all have been an “everyone” awaiting the good news, and we all have an “everyone” waiting for us to bring them the good news.  Maybe it’s our children or a spouse or a member of our extended family.  Maybe it’s a neighbor or co-worker or fellow student in school.  Are you preparing to be the “beautiful feet” that take the good news to the “everyone” who is waiting?  How does one do that?  By understanding what God has done in your life and then by sharing your story.  Our stories always speak of areas of unbelief.  Remember Romans 10:10 “For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.”  Our unbelief desperately needs the blood of Jesus.  Adam and Eve’s unbelief manifested in the eating of the forbidden fruit in response to the lie that God did not really care about them.  For years my unbelief manifested in my need to be perfect in God’s eyes so He would accept me.  I believed the lie that the blood of Jesus was not enough.  Often the “everyone” I am sent to by the Spirit is a person who believes they must clean themselves up and be perfect before God will accept them.  That resonates within my spirit and I get to share my story and the Truth of the good news and see them set free by the blood of Jesus.   Identify your story.  Identify the lies that came to keep you from the One who loved you and who gave His Son for you.  Then, get those “beautiful feet” ready to go tell your story as the Spirit leads!
