God has given each of us the ability to do certain things well. Romans 12:6, Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them:if prophecy, in proportion to our faith
Though you may not think you do, everyone has abilities that they can put to giving God glory. Lots of people doubt the fact that they have unique talents, but we have all been created with and given special abilities. God gave us abilities to do certain tasks or accomplish objectives so we can shine His light through those areas in our lives.
It may be a challenge to find these things, but with patience God will let you know what they are. Most people enjoy the abilities they are given and can put them into use in an activity or something that they enjoy doing. God gives us these abilities so we can honor him and fulfill the main purpose of glorifying Him in our life. Rick Warren once wrote that “The abilities you do have are a strong indication of what God wants you to do with your life. They are clues to knowing God’s will for you . . . God doesn’t waste abilities; He matches our calling and our capabilities.” So don’t ever doubt the fact that God gave you abilities and that you are here on this earth for a reason.
Some people’s might change over time or the opportunities they have to use their abilities may change too. Though they may change, that doesn’t mean that what you are living for should change. Everyone’s main objective as a human should to be walk a life of faith that brings God glory. These God-given abilities is one of the greatest ways to do so. Don’t make your focus a self-serving life but make God your top priority. Our greatest ability is to serve, but the abilities we use to serve are important also.
Take Tim Tebow for example. He was one of the greatest college football players ever. And every game he wore a Bible verse on his eyeblack. He used the ability God gave him in football to spread the word. Throughout his college career he used 11 different verses on his eyeblack. John 3:16 was the verse he wore in the BCS national Championship in 2009. After that game John 3:16 received over 90 million searches on the web.
Even a little thing like eyeblack can make a world of difference and bring glory to God. For everyone, we have unique abilities and our own special eyeblack; how will you use yours?
