Rob Jones – Deacon of Grow Groups
How did you become a believer?
When I was around 7 years old, I had a lot of questions for my parents about Christ, sin, and why I needed a Savior. They sat me down and showed me in the Bible what Christ had done for me and that without Him there is no hope. Christ called me, all I did was believe that He died for my sins and was raised from the dead, a victor over sin and death. I accepted Him in to my heart as my Savior and Lord that evening by my parents bed.
Tell me about your family:
I have been married to my loving and beautiful wife, Jessie, since 2011. God blessed us with a boy, Sawyer, in 2016. We have a couple dogs and a bunch of chickens.
What book of the Bible is dearest or most meaningful to you? Why?
I would say my favorite book is Proverbs. My parents got me into reading Proverbs as a daily devotion. It is full of wise words and knowledge. Proverbs 1:7, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction.”
What are your hobbies/interests?
I enjoy woodworking and figuring out how things work. I love to hunt and fish, especially with family and friends. Honestly, I could watch chickens peck around our backyard for long periods of time.
